case study 04 – Banking

Two Banks pooled their money and bought a large number of loans. Their agreement was to split them, but this required both parties to see ALL the records. Needless to say, this turned into a bit of an awkward situation. While the banks were talking calmly, peaceably and politely about what to do (why would this conversation ever become uncivil?) they asked us to store 2000 boxes of records.

We quickly discovered the larger issue, and we created a program to scan all of the loan documents and make them available to both parties in the same software platform. We even improved the scanning process by stretching it out over eight months (for cash flow) yet allowing for any unprocessed document to be scanned on demand. In the end, not only did we solve a dicey file problem, but we did it in a way that made each bank realize that we loved them both the same
